The Barefoot Lawyers of Sierra Leone

A documentary about the new scramble for Africa’s resources sees thousands of Sierra Leone’s villages destroyed by multinational mining conglomerates. It follows local lawyer Sonkita Conteh as he trains up an army of Barefoot Lawyers, and sets about changing the law, so ordinary people can take back control of their ancestral land. Supported by a grant from Story for Change, a project of Sundance Institute supported by the Skoll Foundation. Selected for Sheffield Meet Market 2020
